Maintenance

uno form’s superior durability stems from the high quality of the production processes and the choice of materials. Below, we have compiled important information on how to care for your product. With proper care, the elements will retain their beautiful finish even after many years of daily use.

For lacquered and painted fronts, we recommend that the fronts are regularly checked for surface damage. If damage has occurred during use, the surface should be sealed to prevent moisture penetration. Use the spot paint supplied with the product to repair the damage.

Melamine surfaces

Wipe with mild soapy water or detergent. Particularly difficult marks can be carefully removed with alcohol. Melamine surfaces do not require any further care. We recommend uno form laminate cleaner on dirtier surfaces.

Lacquered wood surfaces

Veneer and solid wood fronts have a natural structure and open pores. Therefore, avoid using excessive water when cleaning to avoid moisture penetrating the surfaces. Use a slightly damp cloth and dry afterwards with a dry cloth. Use a mild soap on a damp cotton cloth, and never use scouring powder, as it can scratch the surface. Be careful not to rub the surface too hard, as it can result in shiny spots. It is important to remove any water sitting on the lacquered wood – we advise quickly wiping off any dirt or moisture with a cloth.

Laminate surfaces

Standard laminate can withstand all common cleaning agents – except scouring powder – and therefore does not require any special maintenance. We recommend uno form laminate cleaner which is supplied with the product.

Our monochrome super matt laminates have a smooth matt surface that makes scratches and fatty marks more visible. This laminate requires slightly more care/cleaning than standard laminate. Small scratches/wear marks can be almost completely removed from the surface. Moisten the white sponge from the laminate cleaning kit with a little water. Lightly rub the scratch with the sponge using circular movements. The friction from the sponge will make the scratch disappear almost completely. Finally, clean the entire surface using laminate cleaner and the sponge.

Never use abrasive cleaning agents, steel wool or corrosive cleaning agents.

Painted surfaces

Painted fronts are smooth and relatively matt. Use a slightly damp cloth and dry afterwards with a dry cloth. Use a mild soap on a damp cotton cloth, and never use scouring powder, as it can scratch the surface. Be careful not to rub the surface too hard, as it can result in shiny spots. It is important to remove any water sitting on painted surfaces – we advise quickly wiping off any dirt or moisture with a cloth.

Drawers

Drawers can be wiped using a mild cleaning agent. Once a year or so, lubricate the runners with a small amount of bicycle oil.

Environment

uno form strives to produce the best kitchens for users, the environment and future generations. This was the original idea in 1968 when uno form was first established. Timeless design and quality with a very long service life. This timeless design has proved sustainable: Many uno form kitchens from the past 50 years are still in use.

uno form goes to great lengths to ensure its products are as sustainable as possible: All the wood used in production comes from sustainable forestry, production is environmentally certified in accordance with the 14001 standard, and all our products carry the Danish indoor climate label. In addition, all uno form products are tested in accordance with EN/DS 14749 with regard to safety requirements and test methods.

If at any time it is necessary to dispose of an uno form kitchen, all the materials can be recycled.

When disposing of your uno form kitchen, all metal parts must be dismantled and placed with the metal waste at your local recycling centre. Solid wood items can be processed into new wood products, chipboard can be recycled as new chipboard, and painted items or MDF panels can be sent for incineration with heat recovery without having to take any special measures.

See your local municipal waste schemes for further information.
